Eco-Sensitivity

·         The concept of an ecological sensitivity or Eco-Sensitivity is among the most widely used terms with no unequivocally accepted definition. Infect eco-sensitivity is often considered synonymous with environmentally sensitive areas, environmentally sensitive zones, ecologically sensitive ecosystems, ecologically sensitive sites.

·         The Eco-Sensitivity area is an area where the natural environment can easily be harmed.

·         Eco-Sensitivity areas are those areas that we consider ecologically, economically, biologically ‘rich’, valuable, and or unique and are largely irreplaceable if destroyed.

Adaptation

·         Adaptation may be defined as the ability of a living organism to survive in a particular environment condition by the possession of physical, Biochemical, Genetic, and behavioral features.

·         It is the adjustment of the organism to its environment in order to improve its chances of survival in that environment.

·         Adaption is of two kinds:

                                 i.            External Adaption

                               ii.            Internal Adaption

Adaption Trait

Adaption Traits may be of the following three kinds:

         i.            Structural/Biological adaption (Physical features of an organism like shape, body coverings, internal organs)

ii.            Behavioral adaption (Inherited system of behavior like searching for foods, mating, vocalization)

iii.            Physiological adaption (Growth, Development, Temperature regulation)

Acclimation

·         Acclimation is the process by which an organism adjusts to a change in its environment.

·         The process of acclimation is all about the way that a person or other organism adapts to a new environment.

·         It generally refers to the ability of living things to adjust to changes in climate and usually occurs in a short time of change.

·         It is the adjustment to laboratory conditions.

·         Acclimation is the process to handle the changes in temperatures precipitation and food sources.

·         It is the coordinated phenotype response developed by the organism in the environment.

Acclimatization

·         It is the process in which an individual organism adjusts to a change in its environment allowing it to maintain the performance across a range of environmental conditions.

·         It occurs in a short period of time and within the organisms’ lifetime.

·         Adjustment of an organism to change in the environment under natural conditions is called Acclimatization.

·         Long term response of an organism to changes in its environment, such responses are more or less habitual and irreversible.

·         Adjustment to seasonal changes in temperatures comes under acclimatization.

·         It is the physical response to a number of environmental factors (Heat, Cold, and Altitude).
